I got mine from a older couple in ther 50-60's and it was mint but they were asking 18k but i got it for 15k with all 4 new tires and clutch. Old people love taking care fo there car so I believe it was garage kept.

Honestly, the 2000 and 2001 Honda S2000 can be had from $10,000-$14,000 in good condition. They are very inexpensive these days and with higher mileage the price seems to drop very low. Even 2004 S2000s are under $20,000 in good condition. I think KBB has them at $19,800. Of course dealers with them on the lot will sell them and mark them up $5,000 but thats the general rule of thumb. So unless its a 2005 S2000 and up, I wouldn't pay more than $15,000 for a used 2000, regardless of mileage.

I'd be REALLY cautious about any S from the east coast regardless of how it may look. I bought mine used, for cheap (about 13k) figuring that for the money I could fix whatever needed fixing and wind up with a mechanically excellent car for about the same money as a nicer one would cost me up front. The big advantage in my mind was that I would wind up with a car that was setup how -I WANT-.
Short of the long is that I did wind up with a car in mechanically excellent condition that is setup just how I want.
The gotcha is that when I took the car to be aligned the shop couldnt break ANY of the concentrics loose even with high torque air tools. They were all seized. I wound up having to sawzall all of them out so I could replace them and that meant replacing all the lower control arms. For reference this was about 8 SOLID HOURS with a sawzall in uncomfortable positions and 150 bucks worth of sawzall blades to get them all out.
The point of the story is just be VERY cautious about corrosion prone vehicles. That corrosion is not always obvious, and could even be in places you can't see until later.
I'm happy to have a car that I've gone through pretty thoroughly at this point and it's been quite the education on the mechanics of the s2000, but it was certainly more than I had anticipated.
Education is always expensive.
