Default What kind of gas do you use?

Hello All,

On all my vehicles I've always used shell most of the time until I got my S2000. I used chevron for a while now with the S for no paticular reason. Lately, (last few months) I've been swapping back and forth between Shell and Chevron on my S and I noticed noticable differences.

Chevron - I get ok gas milelage and my engine runs smooth and prrs~~

Shell - I noticed I get better gas milelage but my engine doesnt like it for some reason. Doesnt run smooth and it sputters (lightly but enought to notice from the exhaust sound) from time to time.

I've been swapping back and forth for the last few months and the "effects" follow so now i don't even bother with Shell. Anyone else experience the same thing or have a preferred gas/brand they use? I'm just curious... Just fyi, I always use premium and I know gas mileage differs with driving style but I mainly drive my car the same route back and forth to/from work when I noticed this.

v/r
James

What do you mean by it sputters?

I've only been using Shell lately because it's the closest station to my house; I haven't noticed anything strange.

91 of anything other than Shell or Arco.

Shell I have seen prove proven results on the dyno before/after on a friends boosted Eclipse GST. Never pumped it again. Honestly though aside from these two stations I'll use just about any station that gets a decent amount of business. It doesn't help if you are getting a 91 octane from a Chevron, Shell or even a 76 that doesn't get business and sells stale gas.

I noticed that when I go to 7-11, or Olympian my car runs smooth and I also get an extra 10-15 miles before my light will turn on oddly enough.

Why exactly don't you use shell? Or am I reading your dyno story incorrectly?
