I'm running RS3s on stock AP2v1s. I dusted the rears in less than nine months of daily driving and three track days. I will likely switch to something else for daily driving and stick with RS3s for track days.

I still had another layer of cords to go through so I might have been able to get 13k

...We do have the same tires; but how do you know my driving style?
....It sounds more like you're driving on roads made of cheese graters, or you have an alignment issue.
Flash, I said our driving styles are different.
I don't know your exact style but I'm confident enough to say its different than mine if your tires are lasting so long.

Do these pics of the road give you an idea of the surface I'm talking about?

Here's after about 5K on the HTRzIII's, and you can see a fresh set peeking around the corner.

Lol, I agree.

I got 2,045 miles on my last set of 640-rated Michelin Primacys cause I am so manly! I must be the most paciest driver!

I have mixed reviews on the HTR-ZIII. They clearly last longer, and for 80% of my driving feel nearly as grippy as rs3/star specs. However in hard cornering the soft sidewall really shows. While the tire ultimately holds the road, it doesn't feel like it for a moment or two after initial turn in. Stock suspension, UK alignment.

Rear Life:
Star spec 10K
RS3 6K
HTR ZIII 12k and going (about half the life consumed)

I auto crossed, daily drove and drove in the wet on all these tires. They all performed well in those three applications. I tracked the HTR ZIII and they didn't display much issue there - I was expecting a very sloppy experience - so for the money I'm really impressive with the 'value' not the 'performance'.

Rick I think it comes down to the life you want out of the tire. Money no object, I would run the star spec. They were the best performance tires I've driven on.

The RS3 I was disappointed it. The soft sidewall and ultra fast wear sucked. Though the grip was impressive. So I'm on the HTR ZIII because I'm tired of replacing the rears every 4-6 months.
