it doesnt have to be a moving violation to get a point on your record
I have friends in the dmv and insurance companies.
But i guess my word is no good.
You can just pay and not fix it, dont be surprised if you get a point on your record for 3 years

There are people here that said they didn't get any points, but if you actually have an evidence to the contrary, feel free to post it up.

Its a fix it violation correct?
What happens when you just pay the fine and do not fix it with an officers signature and the $10 fee?
It becomes a point on your record.
I dont know how much clearer I need to say it.
but oh well
You go tint your windows limo black for us. Get a ticket. Just pay the fine and not have it corrected and let us know what happens

Perhaps you not getting what I'm saying, so I'll be more clear. Just because you say it is so, does not make it so.
Here is the list of one point violations (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/dl/vioptct.htm#onecvc). I don't see the code for tint (26708), listed any where on that page.

whoa, this seemed to have turned into a debate over tint being a "point" incurring violation! I'm not sure if it will get me a point but I was more/less asking if there was anyway around it but it sounds like I should just remove it for now.
I have a friend who does tint so I'm sure he can do me a favor. I kinda wanted to do a lighter shade anyways....

i dont get mess w/ at all, even w/ my windshield tinted too . if i did i just show them my tint business cards and my stack cop business cards and tell him he's wasting his time. if that doesnt work just wait for the courtesy notice and forge his sig, badge #, departement code, and VC # from the ticket to the courtesy notice. turn it in to the clerk and pay your admin. correction fee. the lady at the window doesnt suspect a thing. it works.....ive done it a few time. it s not my idea. ive gotten the ideas from the many ossafer cops customers i met over the years when they can't meet up to sign my tix off.
or ....switch plates and your friends will work. courtesy notice dont have VIN# or model name on it, just car manufacturer, LP # and Docket #. just tag a cop when he's coming or going out of the station. he'll just glance and sign it.
ps. awhile back depends on the city or department i would have his coworker on the phone before the the cop even step up to the my door window. i just tell him officer so and so wants to talk to you. and that would be the end of it
