They're just trying to make so money if they can that all, at the end they will see that it not worth it. Hope the money hungry wife will come to her sense and just settle it personal, so it don't have to hurt more then it have to.

I don't know. It could really go either way. Sometimes you get tapped and you're really fine. Other times a light bump could mean a sore neck or back later. Hope it all works out in your favor.

Thanks for the support, guys

I went to a bodyshop in Brentwood the other day... it's going to cost $1700!! The guy said it's because the bumper needs to be replaced (slightly bent out of shape) and the hood will need to be slightly reshaped, as well. I think the bulk of the cost is going to be spent on color matching the Suzuka Blue *sigh*

I don't think my baby will be fixed in time for the meet on the 19th.

I have just put my car in the shop for a new hood and a new bumper. It's going to cost $2800 or so. Make sure the shop your taking it to dose good paint jobs. You get what you pay for.

yellowbanana - thanks for the info. The shop I am taking it to is called Vornhagen in Brentwood, CA. The guy said that it was going to be a low estimate because he wasn't sure if the hood needed to be replaced or not. It's only got a slight dent and he wants to see if he can pop it back out, first.

The bumper will need to be replaced because it is slightly warped and pushed down doesn't line up exactly with the hood or fenders anymore). The guy who gave me the estimate said that the majority of the costs is going to be the paint, because he said he will have to blend the bumper and hood (if needed) into the fenders and doors.

I think this guy is really good, because he has done a lot of cars (has some famous guy's Thunderbird in the shop). He also did a great job on my neighbor's Dodge Durango, which has a deep metallic blue finish. This car was t-boned at an intersection by a guy who ran a red light. My boyfriend saw the damage and was thinking the car would never be the same. A week later, my neighbor got his car back and it is flawless. You can't tell at all that the car was in an accident. All the panels fit perfectly and the paint color is dead on. I was really impressed

Sorry to hear about the rear end - and even sorrier that insurance is going to get involved. My friend had something similar happen (although I was in the passenger seat) while driving his dad's Jag. Making right turn, car ahead starts going and just stops, and thinking the other car just went - rear ended the guy in front. Anyways, hope things work out with your S, and at least on the bright side - since insurance is involved, you shouldn't have to pay a large lump sum out of pocket right away... they'll put you on the rape-me-over-time plan

I should be used to it! That's how my mortgage works, after all.

Thanks for the support. My S2000 will still be messed up for the meet, but at least I'll have it for the meet. I was considering dropping it off this week to get fixed but I know it won't be done by this Sunday. What good is a S2000 meet if I have to bring my Mom's Geo Prizm?
