and a lawyer showing up on your doorstep for... what $500. It will cost more in fuel to get the lawyer here. Idle threat.

Definitely refund his money. If anything has a scratch on it, you are going to be dealing with this guy for the next 6 months.

he's going to find a reason to piss and moan about the condition of it. save yourself the trouble and the headache and just refund him the $ and cut all ties.

But if you don't, it boils down to a "how much is your time worth" question. Do you put up another ad and do nothing waiting for another buyer for the next few months? Or do you sell it and possibly deal with an agro person for the next few months.
