Wow! Glad youre okay & the damage does look repairable; def an insurance claim. I thought those wheels were forged? How the hell did the spokes manage to stay in good condition but the inside barrel is busted? I was looking at this wheel too for track/street use but now it gots me thinking. Reminded me of the Wedsports that Rob was running & his caliper fell off & busted a hole in the barrel.

i dont have a problem with insurance paying out to fix my car, its the fact that they are saying that it is a collision accident and i am at fault and that my premium might raise because of this which i think is unfair in my situation.
they are forged. i did not hit anything soft or light weight, it was definitely heavy/hard. the advans are great wheels, they have been through 2years of sf roads/potholes and there are no bends. i doubt you will run into the thing i hit on the daily basis.
i have full coverage

Kevin, tell them that the only way to avoid that moving object was to swerve into a lane that was already occupied. I felt that it was safer to stay in my lane and run over the moving object vs cause a serious accident with other people on the road.
It should be covered under comp for a moving object on the freeway. If it was stationary when you approached it then they could say you had time to avoid it.

I got an update today from my agent, she took a look at the pictures and reconsidered the situation to less than 50% at fault due to night conditions so my insurance won't be going up but it is still considered a collison claim

Since its under 50% it wont affect your rates, however its enough to make you responsible for the deducible...lame, but it beats paying the full bill.
