I'm getting an odd "whistle-like" noise from the car when I am driving it between 2500 to approximately 3500 RPM.

The whistle noise occurs in the 2500-3500 RPM range regardless of what gear I am in. It will also occur when I rev in that range while the car is idle.

Any suggestions what may cause this? And if it affects performance albeit I notice no difference (outside of that rpm range)

its really hard to tell until I hear it myself...
Just do the process of elimination...
Thats what I always do everytime there's a weird noise from my car...unless I really know whats creating the noise.
is it coming from the engine bay?
Do you have cold air intake?or any aftermarket intake?cus my injen CAI whistles too.

i honestly dont know. i've heard this from a few other s2k's. i cant pinpoint it since i'd be driving the car. integra gsr's used to do this too.

try to ask someone if they could rev the car for you while you stand outside...or drive it for you while you are in the other car...would it be the same thing if you go on a dyno or a smog place to see if you can hear the whistling noise?or is it just from the wind?

I HAD THE SAME NOISe and it was the throttle body

You sure it's not your turbo?? haha j/k.

I think it is the throttle body.
