I'm really curious what my CR weighs in at now, I haven't really done any weight reduction specific mods but it's always on my mind and tends to be the driving force for a lot of them. Like several mentioned already, the stock exhaust set up is pretty heavy -- weighed the header and cat to be 65lbs (CR exhaust), and my Greddy SE single + TP was less than 30lbs. The stock seats are pretty hefty too but I'm not sure if there is a huge weight saving with switching to a bucket because of the weigh to the rails, sliders and brackets needed. So far I've done the following that probably lost me at least SOME weight:

- Intake/header/TP/single exhaust ~ -30lbs
- Recaro SPG's ~ -20lbs
- forged wheels ~ -4lbs x4 = -16lbs
- 2pc front rotors ~ -2lbs x2 = -4lbs
- Gutted everything behind seats for rollbar (including hardtop hardware) ~ -no idea

My estimates are a bit reserved so I've probably lost at least 70lbs, hopefully more. I'll report back when I get a chance to get on scales!

I forget how much the car weighs stock I believe it is 2885 but I have done quite a bit of weight savings and took out a lot more than I thought I did. The list goes. Carbon Fiber Hood, Carbon fiber Trunk, carbon fiber mirrors, carbon fiber hardtop with gutted soft top. gutted carpets in cabin and trunk, no spare tire. changed out the heavy stock exhaust for a lighter Invidia, and changed out the stock air box for a lighter cold air intake, invidia test pipe no cat. Also my wheels are 4 pounds lighter a piece than the stock 22 lbs. with all that my car now weighs 2625 without me in it. that is a total of -260 lbs. I was really shocked when I got my car on the scale and found out how much it weighs.

HOw does all that work affect the awesome 50/50 weight distribution?
nathan, the thread I posted (or maybe it was another one) briefly mentioned how it affected the distribution. As for how well it performs on the track, I'm assuming the suspension was tweaked to compensate, and even krazik's s2kk (2300+ lbs) was able to finish in multiple top 3 finishes with his setup.

I'm trying to find a thread for you, of a guy who did some massive destroying of his S for weight; he even took out what seperates the cabin from the trunk. If I can find it I'll definitely give you the guys name so you can talk to him.
Whiteflash, I've read Krazik's thread if that's who you're referring to?

No, he's not who I'm referring to. He had said the rear felt a little bit flighty with the top down, I had came up with an interesting idea to slot the trunk since he had air passing through into it, he'd be able to use the body as it's own creator of downforce. I'm trying to find it but this had to have been a year ago

I don't know if he's still on the board but Dave Kennedy's (PK Dave) car lost something like 600lbs - and he supercharged his engine. Stripped bare.
CrazyK may know his whereabout is.

edit, whiteflash, his name is PK Dave.

Yeah, I've read PK Dave's threads as well.

I'm just particularly curious about any one from Nor Cal who went to these extremes.

My car's weight losses, more or less:

Titanium single - 35 pounds
Header - 8
Intake ~ 4
Driver's seat - 10
Coilovers - 12 (4 per corner)

So roughly 70 pounds off, all as side benefits to doing power/handling mods. But my sway bars weigh more than stock and I have a 5 pound rear diffuser. So maybe 60 pounds in the end.

There are at least a few folks with stripped cars in the Bay Area.

I've got a lot of data on all sorts of weights. I think its combined in a thread of mine about the TSW wheel weights. My car has lost ~ 150-170lbs and honestly any more than 200 (besides AC) and its really going to start getting uncomfortable
