WEEKLY SF Food Bank Volunteers?
Most Saturdays, I can be found working at the SF Food Bank as a food sorter. I sort food for packing and redistribution.
The SF Food Bank organizes, distributes, etc. food for those who are hungry, homeless, or affected by disasters. They can always use volunteers to work Mon-Sat.
I know most of you guys here are out of school, still young & full energy, estrogen, maybe both, whatever. A lot of you guys have set schedules, work M-F, sleep in late on the weekends, have a lot of free time.
Just about all of us are here at one point or another because of this damn car. We have a pretty good group going and I figured, why not utilize our common grounds to organize some manpower to provide for a greater good? I know a lot of you guys are good people, and many of you already contribute to the community in your own way, but I figured maybe I should spread the word and perhaps give those that don't volunteer that extra push that some of you just need to get out and lend a hand.
I don't have the time to set something up during M-F as I work from 0700 to 1900 M-F, but it'd be nice to see some familiar faces on the S shift. S volunteer shifts are scheduled either 0900 to 1200, or 1230 to 1530. Sometimes volunteer roster fills up, so you cannot work even though you want to (safety rules, etc). Depending on how many people are interested versus how many open slots there are, dates and times will be drawn accordingly. Every shift has a max of 75 volunteers.
I will be at track events Nov 26 and Dec 4, and will be at the SFFB almost every weekend following. I'm shooting for some group involvement dates, see below.
Let me know if you are interested. Hopefully ALL of you are, but perhaps a few of you may actually have the time to help out.

I have a Chistmas show to do on the 10th - but may be up for the 17th once my gig schedule firms up.
