Trying to gather the preceding plans looks like meeting at about 10:30 am at a location TBA off 101 in Marin...so perhaps East Bay to meet at 9:30-9:45 at Skate. Seems a strong desire for a restaurant as the dining focal point... S2K does not lend itself to BBQ activities in remote locales unless someone with a minivan or sport-useless vehicle sacrifices and becomes the de facto organizer/purchaser/caterer. I dunno, is this event outstripping the informal nature of this board?? Moderator?? Are you there???

"About next Sunday weather permitting I think we are going to have a good turnout. We should have at least one meeting point in Marin at a given time like 10:30 or so. One suggestion is to meet at the Holiday Inn Mill Valley, which has a good size parking lot that at this time of the day could accomodate all of us. This location is near Highway 101 at the Stinson Beach exit which is right after the last Sausalito exit. From there we can all drive to Point Ryes. Let me know I am flexible".

Hey Bob, I want to join the east bay group. So we are going to meet at 9:30 at Skates in Berkeley? That's at the Berkeley Marina right?

ok. here's a couple new threads on the subject to clear out some clutter.

headcount poll: http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=8105

meeting time/place thread: http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=8107

it's going to take us south bay folks a couple hours to get to mill valley. would anyone have problems pushing the meeting time back, to like 1130? that way we don't have to wake up at the buttcrack of dawn

Skates On The Bay
100 Seawall Dr
Berkeley, CA 94710

Located at the foot of University. Go west off 80 to Berkeley Marina. University ends at Seawall, there is a parking lot for the restaurant on the right. How about 10:30 there?

Bob (and other East Bayers),

Skates is a great meet-up location. That big parking lot should have lots of space Sunday morning.

I plan to come west on 580 from San Leandro, make my stop at Peets (Lakeshore), and meet at Skates at your suggested time. See you all there rain or shine! (Hopefully more of the latter...)

Josh3io or anyone,

Do you know if the Motorolas can talk to the Cobra two way's? Otherwise I think I'll pick up a pair of Motorolas.

I hope we can keep enthusiasm up, even though the weather might not be pretty. This is the most momentum the Bay Area has had so far for a good sized S2K drive. I'm looking forward to meeting some other local owners.

How's this? Come one, come all, see John spin on narrow Highway 1 with his nearly-bald SO2's!

If it rains I am out. It is no fun to go top down in the rain, let's watch the weather.
