For anyone who like going on these roads, I actually recommend the crack of dawn. The last time I did that, it was so early that there is no one there, and yet there is enough light for you to see a few bends down. Most recommended!
Perhaps we need a crack of dawn group drive... say, group drive up to skyline vista point to watch the sunrise. Now who's interested?

I've found late afternoon 5:00-6:00 p.m. to be the idle time. Hardly any traffic (maybe 3 cars tops) and no bikers (due to that being sundown time). It leaves all the visibility and eliminates almost all traffic.
