you should be able to do most the job yourself, you will just need a machine shop to press in a fitting some times, about $45.00
the rest you can do. good luck, just get a diagram. search for one. I had lockers put on my tundra, locker was $400 out the box, labor was 400. i could have done it for free. Plus when it breaks, you will wish that you had not spent the money on labor, most diffs will break, expecially small ones from JDM, you really must take it easy on them, no off the line b.s. must when rollin your good.

So you know how to adjust backlash? You got the shims too??

funnier when it breaks or did mean more fun?

450 seems like alot considering you have to remove your diff and reinstall it as well as provide all the necessary hardware
$450 includes all labor on their part, including R&R of diff...they set backlash and use the correct shims...

I don't have the mechanical know-how or big balls to take on a diff by myself...if you CAN do it by yourself and have access to the tools needed, more power to you. I just don't want to grenade my diff in trying to save a few $$$...I'd rather spend a few bucks up front to get it done right.

It is crucial that the backlash be perfect, if it's not you'll end up replacing it much sooner than you'd like.
I think that place (rearendspecialties) did the diff in my work van and I put 60 thousand on it without any funny noises.

Rearend Specialties, in Santa Clara, also installed my 4.56 gears.
After 15k miles, no problems so far. Great mod!
