Default VTEC Probelems

Hey guys,

So yesterday afternoon I noticed a considerable drop in performance in the higher RPM's. It worried me and so I opened the hood and the engine bay was really hot s sure enough I check the oil and it was extremely low, however no check oil light. The engine took two quarts of Mobile 1 synthetic but the power has yet to come back, any ideas?

2 QTS of oil is a lot to be low on. Does the VTEC activate?

If you're low on oil. Vtec does not work.

Wow. That's some seriously low oil. Hope you didn't break anything.

It is full on oil now. I'm pretty sure VTEC activates, just not nearly as as powerfully as it did. Maybe it also has to do with the much hotter weather as of late, in the mid eighty degrees? I've never driven it in the spring/summer. I have not tried the ECU, would I just disconnect then reconnect the battery?

yes, or remove the 7.5amp fuse from the driver's footwell fuse box

vtec is oil pressure related! No oil or low oil means no vtec

Stop running mobil1!
