I noticed that as well. Also if you look inside it says to use 92 octane gas. weird that they are in CA, they should know we only have 91 octane.

I called vortech the other day to verify and they did say it has passed CARB. They say the first run maynot have CARB numbers on them but the later runs will. They also told me that if you get the first run and need a CARB number they will send you a sticker with the CARB number on it. I've been told that is IS CARB approved. I dunno why the manual says what is does on the cover tho.

I wonder what happens if you use 91? There are a few places that sell 100 so you can mix with 91 to get higher octane.

I am thinking the price you were quoted by Modacar might be a little low based on what the install looks like in the manual. It is much more involved than the Comptech. Let us know what the final price is on the install.

silversurfer: if they say a price they should honor that price right? They didnt say anything about it might cost more if its harder to install.

True but be prepared if they ask for more money. I am thinking they are basing their price on the Comptech installs. Just my .02

yep, that's definately not a $500 install unless u got some type of family hookups there. think about it.. relocate oil filter, mount oil cooler, tap oil pan, replace fuel pump, install fuel management, install new pulleys and belts, then install S/C. I think $7-800 sounds about right. who knows, maybe Modacar will do it for $500 and you'll get a perfect install... ...
