Default Vortech coming home!!!!

I just placed my order for my Vortech sc!!! Hoping to get it by late next week. Now to find a GOOD place to install it. Where do you guys think I should get my vortech installed at, tech 3 or modacar? How clean of a job do they do and do they follow the install by the book? I don't want to go to some place that will take short cuts. I was planing to do this myself but after looking at the instructions I'll pass.

first of all, anyplace doing the install for you should definitely not take any shortcuts. you can make sure this wont happen by sitting there and watching them do the install.. it doesnt really matter who you take it to because they all can ---> RTFM (Read The ****#$ manual).

I have had work done at both Tech3 and Modacar. Modacar installed my SC and did a good job for a very reasonable price. Tech3 did my first round of mods. But they were just easy bolt on parts, exhaust, suspension and wheels. Nothing hard to do. In fact my car was featured in a local mag along with Tech3 shop about a year and half ago. However, I do know a few people that will not go back to Tech3 for various reasons. Chuck and Will have always taken care of me and have done a good job for the most part. Here is a link to the article published in Tuning Concept TECH3 and My S2K

Thanks for the info guys, guess I'm gonna go with Modacar since they have done SC installs on the S before. Oh and they would install for less then $500....Tech 3 wants.... get this $700-800 for labor?!?!

COOL!! It will be interesting to see what they think of the Vortech since they have installed Comptech's previously and was very impressed with the quality of the kit.

Silversurfer: After you guys installed the comptech kit, did you have to come back to do any fine tunning? i know the kit was bolt on but did you run into any issue right off the bat?

No not really, no additional tuning. The only issue was with the check valve, since then Comptech has come out with the ESM (electronic signal modifier) which works 100% better than the check valve. It sounds like the install of the vortech will be more involved than the Comptech. You may want to send them a copy of the install manual so they can be better prepared for you when you drop off your car Vortech Manual

GOOD LUCK!! I am looking forward to seeing your install. The kit looks very nice

Oh, BTW, I just noticed on the front cover of the manual it says "LEGAL IN CALIFORNIA ONLY FOR RACING VEHICLES WHICH MAY NEVER BE USED UPON A HIGHWAY" Interesting.
