San Jose don't got much, but if you are into shopping I suggest Valley Fair and right across the street is a high end outdoor shopping mall called Santana Row. SR is like the Beverly Hill's Rodeo Drive. Bunch of high end boutique shops. Expensive, but a very nice place to chill and have a drink.

You could always walk pier 39, but it's not as much fun as in the summer time.

Depends on what you want to see/do.
There's tons of you shopping to be done if that's your thing. A few of the places include Union Square in SF, Stanford Mall in Palo Alto, and Santana Row/Valley Fair in San Jose.
You can always visit the tourist-y areas of SF, like Chinatown, Financial District, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Alcatraz Island (from Pier 41), Coit Tower, Lombard Street, Golden Gate Bridge, and take the cable cars around.
Or if you have a rental and want to see the roads, take Highway 35 down to Highway 9 (ends in Santa Cruz) or Highway 1. Nice drives, 9 is more driver oriented through the trees while 1 has a better view along the ocean. Santa Cruz has some nice bed breakfasts and Monterey is just another 45 minutes south.
If you want to see humorous auto racing, you could head up to Thunderhill Raceway on Sat/Sun for the 24 hours of LeMons. They race <$500 beaters. http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/events/thunderhill/
