Greetings fellow s2k owners. I'm planning on bringing mine to CA for a week or so to experience sublime landscape, scenery, culture, and to enjoy the terrain in my S. I've never been to Cali so I'm a little intimidated. I have a few connections in LA area but wanna drive up to the Bay Area for a day or so. I was thinking, maybe I should take one day to go down to SD from LA and drive around. Then, come back up and hit up PCH thereafter. Good idea? Also, do you know of any fairly cheap but fairly safe (for my car's sake) places to lodge at up towards, Monterey, San Fran. I'm trying to figure out how much money a 2-3 day trek from LA to San Fran and back would cost me. Being so far from home, I do NOT wanna run outta funds 2,000 miles from Tulsa. Thanks for a helping an "Okie from Muskogee!"

generally, credit cards will work just about any tourist spot that you may hit here and I do not recommend carrying a bag filled with cash hahahahaha. Essentially, my suggestion is book any hotel that has good yelp reviews if you're paranoid about your car like the rest of us.
