Solo 2 is a lower model.... the Passport X50 is the comparable model for V1.
Ive used V1 and Passport 8500 X50.... both really good radar at $400 range, V1 has side sensors which not really a big advantage from the Passport. I have Passport 8500 x50 in my cars.

the side sensors are a big advantage because if the radar is coming from the side you know its auto false.. on a passport you wouldnt know if its real or not. i have the v1 and it's a life saver ..

I bought a V1. You shouldn't use a cordless unit. Those aren't reliable. Aside from the V1's arrows, I love the bogey counter. I think that's the 2nd most useful feature of the unit. My only pet peeve is it doesn't give off different sounding beeps based on the band being detected. The tiny led indicator lights for the bands are just too small for me.

My Solo2 has saved me at least 3-4 times. Its never not worked when needed. My only complaint is because of the need to conserve power, its range is very limited. If I get a Ka reading...the brakes get slammed on right away.

Laser, Ka, and K all sound different on my unit.
