I HIGHLY recommend Vaseline Lip Therapy. Get the non-flavored kind. Some of the most natural stuff available is also the best...

I would not put neosporin on it. It is one of the fastest healing areas of the body. Just leave it be, keep it clean. You could use some kind of lidocaine based oral sore stuff to keep the pain down. This stuff called Kanka you can get at the drug store will keep it from hurting and also dries to make a protective coating.
