If you guys don't mind me throwing my 2 cents in. Here's my observation and answers to some of your questions.

A stock S2000 MY00 to MY01 will dyno anywhere between 185 to 200. A stock S2000 MY02 and MY03 will dyno higher 195 to 205. Reasoning is that the MY02 and MY03 have more aggressive timing and fuel maps in their ECU. This is an observation and assumption made by folks on the board who have witnessed and tested many dynos. Now as to why your dynos read lower then what you have seen regulary on the board, the simple answer is the machine. What you see most of the time are dynos run by Ultimate Lurker (UL) who owns a shop and uses a dynapack dyno. The dynapacks can and do show higer HP and Torque ratings when compared to a dynojet system. According to UL the difference is usually about +10 hp on a dynapack. Now if you went and asked folks who own and operate a dynojet they tend to disagree with that figure. I have been told by many shops in the Northeast that the figure is more likely 10% higher. It's debatable and since they own the equipment they are going to defend it. Now as far as the hardtop is concerned, the Mugen FRP top weighs only 7lbs less then the OEM top so that isn't that much of a difference and isn't going to effect a dyno that much one way or another. The CF top weighs about 20lbs less then the OEM top.

Hello I thought I'd post my dyno numbers since they are bone stock on a MY02 it should be a good comparison

Dyno done at Dynospot racing, I belive they use the same equipment.

These numbers look very similar to the last North Texas S2000 Club's dyno day. It was on an in-ground Dynojet as well. We had a couple bone stock S2000s there that were putting out 201 whp.

You can find those results here.

I would give up to Maddane for the hp and torque readings he got from his mods. Great job buddy. It is true that the Dynopack is the best way to dyno the hp and torque readings and that different machines due give you different readings. I think that it would have been good if at DNR that they would have done around five runs to get the best of five runs. Most of the readings look like they were going up but the runs stopped before getting the max hp and torque readings.

Actually I think most people were getting the best dyno numbers on the second run. That was the best run for me. You cant really expect them to let the car cool between runs and give 5 dyno runs on a "dyno day" we would all be there all night.

Hey Deb, just got home and wanted to thank you for the great job on organizing this event.

It was great to put faces to some of the names here on the board.

Really nice cars guys! Hope I get a chance to meet with you again!

~ Dilithium Warp Crystals (Still In Research)

Since you dyno'd so well I might go with your set up(PRM intake + Spugen exhaust).
