You will regret! Vu did that mistake and it took 2 years to blow that engine. Whereas stock engine lasted for 6 years. Good luck brotha, hope it will work out for you. We are here if you need any help
It wasn't a mistake. The motor wan't meant to be run N/A and I likely screwed up the bearings myself from running the wrong oil at the track. It lasted 3 years btw .
Clearly, your blown engine shouldn't be used as an example of why not to build a built motor. If the thing wasn't used in the proper application and blew after 3 years due to running the wrong oil, sounds like it held up fine until that simple oil mistake was made. Funny how information can be misrepresented.

I had a feeling it was coming to this lol, I didn't thing a properly built engine only lasting 3 years was due to it being performance built, had to be more to it, as kaan said toda, exactly what I'm starting to save for. Likely I'll be asking vu's advice since he clearly knows the ins and outs to performance built F motors that is as long as he don't mind sharing the knowledge

I did a 2.5L build on my AP1...now I'm happy to leave motor in my AP2 alone, bone stock. The speed and fun in this car isn't in the motor, its in suspension and aero mods which is the route I've been taking with my white one. I've been there and done that when it comes to building an S2k motor...and mine was done right and I did not cut corners. Even with a built 2.5L I was still only making ~ 245-250 whp 200 wtq after I personally re-tuned it with a reliable tune. Was it fun? Yes. Would I do it again? Not unless I had a budget that could support spending double the original build cost. If I could go back in time...I would have just purchased a new short block from Honda and been done with it.

You WILL have issues...thats just the way it goes, the question is, if you do a performance build do you have the time and money to tear it apart again when you have to?
