I saw it at ILM last week.. quite the pleasure of watching it with the people that created this movie....finally!!! i thought the beginning of the story was hilarious, and of course the CG and animation were utterly amazing!!!

Transformers was really good but I don't think it was better than 300. I give it an A for effort and entertainment factor.
Transformers was good but it dragged. Character details were so much that I couldnt tell what was what when they were fighting.
I paid more attention to Megan Fox than anything else!

Is it just me, or did a large part of the movie seem like a huge GM product placement commercial? Also funny that the main bad guy car was a Ford. I guess GM had more incentive to put out the $$$ than other manufacturers, because most other cars can sell themselves w/o the blatant product placements. It would have been cool to have a movie full of Honda products though.
Other product placements were pretty obvious and intentional too.
That said, I think it would have been better had the Transformers retained their original make/model forms, or at least the up-to-date version of their respective models.
