hope they keep the story true to the original story line of how it all started and doesn't end up like the Godzilla remake crap!
from the trailer looks like they already f'd up. Bumblebee was a VW Beetle

Anyone of you guys still own any transformer toys?
I still have the fireengine and Optimus Prime. I think they are worth $$$ however they aren't in mint condition.
and speaking of old school toys, I also own:
Thundercat figurines and Voltron robots. <-- this is the shiet!

Well, seeing as how Michael Bay always tends to make an explosion and tittie fest of a movie, I'm sure it'll have something in it for everybody.
In all seriousness, in regards to Bumblebee, I was hoping he'd be a VW Bug also. Apparently, Don Murphy (one of the producers) wanted him to remain a VW, but it was Michael Bay that made the decision to change him to a Chevrolet Camaro. He said that he wanted to avoid comparisons with Herbie the Love Bug. (WTF?!?)
Anyways, I dig how the look of the Transformers are more "realistic", compared to their comic book/cartoon look. Even with CGI, I'm sure their "original" forms would be goofy looking. Hell, even Megatron was changed to something more realistic. It would be stupid as hell if he was XX feet tall, only to transform into a P38 handgun.
I'm definitely going to watch this...with an open mind to the fact that most (if not all) of the story and characters have changed from what I remember. Re-imagined stories sometimes turn out cool.
