Default tranny rebuild

Hey guys, just wondering, how much is it to rebuild a tranny for an 86? how much is a new tranny? I just picked up an 86 recently and the tranny needs some work. any advice? thanks.

*i know this isnt an S but thought might as well post to see if anyone here might know* thanks

Just go to the JY and yank one for like $80. Brand new last time I checked (~2 years ago) was $750+

Lemme guess 2nd gear synchro?

Check club4ag.com for more 86 parts.

why go to club4ag? jus tgo to SOHCmyDOHC garage for a lot more parts HAHA

hey andy 4.56 is in the starlet.

If you don't have any luck and need parts I'd call

Jay Marks Toyota (Toll-Free: 800-327-2087), ask for Jeff Watson and tell'em one of the supra boys sent you (-10%).

yea haha man it seems like this is common on these cars. I'll check out the jy and ima call the toyota guy too. Thanks guys!

I only have one extra tranny I yanked from the JY for my GTS. I'm cutting down on "extra" parts!

hmm how much is a 4ag swap with tranny? if it isnt much then might as well do the whole thing
