Tranny & Diff fluid recommendations
It's that time again. Needless to say, I am less than impressed with Honda's tranny fluid as it barely lasted 15k miles and shifting never really felt smooth, even when the fluid was new. As some of you know, I've been tracking my car this summer so I'll need fluid that can stand up to the punishment while providing great daily driver protection as well. Do you guys use anything other than the Honda brand fluid?
P.S. - I searched the hive of scum and villany known as the Under the Hood forum. I am specifically looking for the opinions of people I know and trust.

i only use honda mtf now and always feels great. amsoil and synchromesh didn't work well for me. synchromesh got notchy after <3k miles. Amsoil sucked from the beginning.
be sure to change clutch fluid if you have notchy shifting.
for the diff, i use mobil 75w90 because it's easy to get.

I use Redline MT-90 for my tranny and usually Redline 75w90 for my diff. I'm still on my original tranny and diff (knock on wood). I've also used Redline Lightweight Shockproof gear oil for my diff, but that probably isn't a good idea for your application.

I've used the Honda MTF and Amsoil Synchromesh as well as the Ol GM Synchromesh. The Amsoil Synchromesh fixed some of my gear grinds on my old K20 set up. The Honda MTF has so far proven fantastic on the S2K. Obsess2k'ed swears by the Amsoil though. I am switching to it this change. Hope that helps
