Default Tragic accident with Lexus SC300 / Vespa rider

I'm sure many of you have heard about this already but I just spent some time this morning reading the incidents and feel very bad for both sides:

http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=237613

Sadly this could have been ANY forum on any given day but this past weekend it was between the Bay Area Vespa rides and some guy on Clublexus.

I'm both a long time member on Clublexus.com and also have been riding for 10+ years so I feel greatly saddened at this incident. Until we know the details can't put the blame on anyone but right now things don't look good for the driver.

Sucks to hear, but some of those guys on BARF need to get off their high horse. They are talking like they never do the same thing.

Hope the guy recovers fully.

Could have been alot worse for the rider, it sounds like he's going to live. Thats why I don't do canyon runs anymore, alot of bad things can happen not only to you but others as well.

Me and my friend almost got hit by some retards in an RSX and Integra on Redwood. If they hit us, they woulda been flying off the side of the mountain.

Wow you know this guy? dangggg, yea his picture was posted all over the internet. We all make mistakes but this mistake is going to cost him I think....

I don't understand why he didn't get out of the car to at least help the guy who he hit in the scooter

What I don't understand is why a Vespa would be on 9. It is bad enough when cars hit cars there. At least on a motorcycle you would have one element (speed) to avoid a collision. On a Vespa you don't have sh!t.

I wish the victim the best of luck and a speedy recovery... but damn... jumping out of planes is fun too, but you don't see me doing it.

yeah, i was revved at by a mustang and some dumb kids in an acura when I was drivin up 9 Sunday

And later that day I was revved at by some kids in a pickup on stevens creek. Me... I couldn't stop laughing, but Sarah said I should go ahead and shut em up... so when they went for it at green I did too. They didn't try anything the next light.

I guess, I'll just say watch out everyone. It's Spring Break for a lot of schools this week... lotta dumb kids out driving trying to race or do stupid shit

haha you know what i used to do?

when i drove my S, and someone pulled up next to me revving, I would rev back and pretend to race. When the light turned green, the other driver would speed off real fast, and I would sit back and watch him look stupid.
