how much was invested in the tools? I put the sensors in and need to get them programmed. 1 bad thing is 1 of the sensors dropped into the tire. I heard it go pop...then a tap tap. guess I need a new sensor.

Tire gauge and valve tool = $45
CDI inch/lb torque wrench = $100

Telling the Honda dealership to go eff themselves
when charging me to reprogram my sensors = priceless

So you spent over $1000 on the equipment when discount tire quoted you $100, $30 more than the dealership. This seems like a smart investment only if you are in a situation where you need to reprogram the TPMS 10+ times. Is that typical for y'all with TPMS. Am I missing something here ?

You're missing a lot haha!
We got other cars in that have TPMS and virtually every car made from now on will have TPMS because of the Tread Act

Do the TPMS need to be reprogrammed every time you get a new set of tires mounted and balanced on any given wheel?

No, not at all as they keep the same programming.
The sensors are supposed to have at least a 7 year battery life but they do go bad earlier than that
