Default Top Slashed... Need Advice

My top was slashed and someone climbed into my S to steal a briefcase in my driveway... I've checked with Honda and an '03 top is in stock in the depot in Roseville. I need your advice. Who should I have install it? Concord Honda is eager, but admits to never having installed one... I'm presuming that that will probably be the case for most shops. I checked with a friend at a Mercedes dealership and they use Teeters & Schacht in Novato... Any advice/experience you can offer is really appreciated.

Thanks,

MCK

I say go to a good convertible top shop. I wouldn't go to a Honda dealer esp if they have never done one.

My understanding is that they farm out convertable top jobs to an outside shop, but I forgot what the name of the shop is. Los Gatos Honda replaced my (plastic) rear window for me a while ago and that was what they told me then.

Sorry to hear of the top slash. In what city did this happen? I hope there was nothing valuable in the stolen briefcase.

You're right about dealers "farming-out" convertible top work... Turns out that Teeters & Schacht in Novato do most all of the work for Marin auto dealers, and have a good reputation. I'll let you know how it goes. BTW, the owner mentioned that he's got a new aftermarket top with rear glass for earlier models...

BTW, I live in Vallejo, on what (for the last 16 years) was a nice quiet street. Briefcase and contents not easily covered by insurance, but I'm most bothered by the violation of my car on my own property.

Thanks for your concern, and have a wonderful holiday!

Final Post:

Just got back from Teeters & Schacht, and they've done an excellent job. I'd recommend their work to anyone.

Happy New Year!
