There is no proving or disproving anything. It is "tread".

If you here anyone say "thread", simply slap them across the face until they say it correctly. Slap them hard.

Thanks for making me feel bad for typing "here" instead of "hear". Forever ashamed...

Tread.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=51
just because tire rack uses "tread" doesn't disprove "thread."

love how they show using the different coins to measure tread depth... or you could just collect all the coins from between you couch cushions and buy an actual tread gauge!

With that comment, what "approves" and "disproves" the proper term? Take it a tire manufacture's website?
http://www.michelinman.com/automotiv.../warranty.page Tread. No thread anywhere.
http://www.goodyear.com/en-US/services/tire-warranty/ What is covered and for how long. Tread. No thread anywhere.
http://www.hankooktireusa.com/serv/w...&childnum=1%0A Tread. No thread anywhere.

Let me know when you find a website talking about tire thread.

geez... it's just basic logic. the existence of one thing does not disprove the other. i'm not arguing for "thread" here, i'm just making a point.

Two different words, two different meanings, in reference to a tire, they are two different parts of the tire.

Only idiots confuse the two
