Nice write up. I'm going to have to try this. My latest endeavor into speeding with a ticket was certainly justifiable, or at least I believe it was.

That said, it is very unlikely that any judge will bother contacting a police officer in order to clear a ticket.

I just got a ticket coming north on 5 Monday, doing 91 in a 70, he said! The CHP was headed south. Wasn't there someone on here a while ago that knew of someone that could get traffic school completion certificates.

I've found that cops lie all the time about traffic violations. Who is going to question them, there is no witness and the court is going to side with their servant, not you. Your best bet is to write a letter, and hope that the cop doesn't respond.

I went through the whole rigmarole and was found guilty when the cop wrote up a completely inaccurate and airtight account of what HE thought happened. I know he wrote this because I subpoenaed it before my court trial, I got to read it and all it did was piss me off. All I got back the first time was a letter with a guilty box checked off on it. No mention of my request for traffic school. I had to go back again and request my "trial denovo" and then before that occurred I requested traffic school and received it. What a pain in the ass, but at least the ticket is off. Traffic school on the web sure made it painless though. Finished it in 20 minutes!

Don't forget deferred adjudication...I just did that with my Texas ticket after days of debating whether or not to fight it...

Hopefully I can do the same with the Oregon ticket...
