save up some more and get a supercharger...or the 5D.

Full frame > cropped

^ is it expensive cameras that make pictures look professional or is it the camera settings? I don't know half the functions on my $150 CANON 5MP camera, I wonder if I can get shots like above.

it's both. if i posted the full resolution pictures you would be able to tell the difference in detail vs a point n shoot like a 5mp canon. if you resize the pics to be small like this you can't see where the DSLR excels. settings are also important when you take the pics.

plus with DSLRS you can use different lenses to get cool effects... like wide angle

hey, i have a canon rebel xt that i'm considering to sell. If you're interested, let me know.

[edit] I would include a 2gb corsair memory card, 2 batteries, and 2 shoulder straps. Don't got a lens for it because I'm using my friends at the moment.

All SLRs are capable cameras. It'll take some time for you to figure out what you like and don't like about the camera. I think my XT is a pile of sh!t but it doesn't mean I can't get decent results with it (when I myself get lucky and adjust everything right) or it's not a good camera. I wouldn't have been able to take these pics without it..

This was a 20X30 poster I printed for my friends son for christmas..

Hm, this is a lot of info for me to process. Any links on where I can check out prices of the cameras online? Perhaps a special website that deals with only digital cameras and lenses?

Btw, most of the pics I like to take are macro shots and pictures at night (low light conditions), what type of lenses should I look at?
