Default Thinking about buying a camera

I was looking at the Canon 20D.. What other suggestions? I have about $2500 to blow.

It's either the Amuse exhaust and a couch for my office, or a camera.. hehe.

Are you going to the meet tonight.. Between all of us we should be able to get you completely confused I mean setup.

If not.
I'll make it quick..
Cameras will come and go but lenses (if you make the right choices unlike myself) will stay.
I would buy a used XT or 20D or if found cheap enough a Rebel and spend the rest on lenses. Camera, 2 lenses, bag and mem card.
The 28-105 is a great walk around lens for the money.
Just did a search on ebay and I might sell my XT, buy a 20D and make a hundred bucks..
So forget the XT and get a used 20D.

You don't want to be a guinea pig and test their new anti dust feature...
The only thing I see that's better is the 2.? lcd screen..

i'd get a cheaper body and get better lenses like mac said.

i'm a nikon guy myself, i have a d70S. i love the speed of my camera. if you are looking at the 20d you should definately look at the nikon d80. goto a camera store and hold the cameras in your hand and get a feel for each of them.

The D80 is a nice camera and the kit if you were to buy new comes with a really decent lens unlike canons kits.. example 18-55 and 17-85

If you have friends that have one of the brands get that brand. It makes things easier. You cand try their lenses and such..

An example of the 28-105..

All pics in this Gallery were taken with the 28-105

i agree that the 18-55 lens is crap but i disagree about the 17-85. its a decent lens. a little soft at wide but still fairly sharp.

yea its no L lens but does its job well. only complaint i have with the 17-85 is that wide angle shots are pretty soft even at higher F-stop. usually gets better around 35mm full open.
