Anyways, I'm going to have Tech Day 2 at my house on sunday september 16th. Should start around 10am as those of us clearing our headlights want an early start. Show up any time after that...

come early and chip in 1/4th the cost of a heat gun with me we can make a quick run to sears. we should also get the silicon needed for sealing everything up. Whatthe: can you tell me exactly what you bought for this?

 

sure, but your house is really far from me, and I don't know how long the drive up there would be, I might get another member to just have a drive up there.

Sorry I musta been sleeping last month or something. What the Hell is "clearing the headlights"? Do I have some awful thing going on with my car I don't even know about?

BTW in case nobody looks at Car Talk I gotta question...my gear lever "rings" at exactly 4000 rpm in all gears, has done so since day one. WC Honda at the moment does not know why, says it is not the lever but may be a TSB thing that does NOT apply to 2001's. Ideas???

Not to worry, Bob. "Clearing the Headlights" is just a cosmetic mod. They are removing the amber plastic from the front ass'y in order to give it a more-unified appearance.

Previous posts on this topic indicate that the procedure is somewhat time-consuming, and that it's really important to get lots of silicone in there to re-seal the lamps. Hence the reference to getting an early start that day...
