"Taking Chance"
As a prior Active Duty Marine, I happen to be looking through the newspaper and I saw this HBO special they were doing on LCPL. Chance Phelps. This is a story about a Marine who is killed in Iraq, and the story of a Lt. Col. who volunteers to take him to his final resting place.
No other movie has ever done this, and I think its important for others to see what type of effect it has on everyone around the country. It doesn't matter if you do or don't support the war, but I urge you to support the troops as much as you can. A simple "thank you" goes a long way, and much of the reason why we serve. It's not because we want to kill people, or to blow things up. Its a little hard to explain, but I hope that if you watch the film, you might look at what we do a little differently.
I remember a time, when I was still in the School of Infantry, down in San Diego. We were on a weekend, out on the town in Oceanside. Some of the guys that I was with, happened to be wearing Marine Corp T-Shirts. A woman in her 40's, walked up to us, and call us baby killers. She spit in MY face, but I couldn't do anything. I don't want to ramble, but we do this for our country. For our family, our friends, and our communities.
Thanks for reading, and I really hope you guys have a chance to watch the film. It would mean a lot to every person in the military for people to understand that we are people just like you. Thank you, and God Bless all our troops.

i agree with mr db2mexican..
a lot of people have different views when it comes to service men..
most of my family members and and some friends are service men. both retired and active (USMC (Iraq), Navy (served in USS hornet)and Secret Service(from the first bush to present).) i feel the same way too as you do.
it hit me once that you guys put your lives in the line of fire to protect the people of this great nation whom some despise you more than your enemies..
dont hate the player.. hate the game. kudos to you.

Thanks you guys.
It really does mean a LOT to hear you guys relate and to receive thanks for what we're so happy to do. I'm sure that any military member to read your 2 messages would be really honored.
Thanks again.
