LudeAtic
are the swifts softer than stock AP2?
No, in the contrary, the SWIFT RED springs are stiffer than the stock AP2.
The SWIFT REDs are an up-grade to the stock OEM springs.
They are lighter in weight and a bit stiffer.
Below are the spring rates:

Stock AP1...... Front 3.9 KG____ Rear 5.2 KG

Stock AP2...... Front 4.1 KG____ Rear 4.8 KG

SWIFT REDs.. Front 4.55 KG___ Rear 6.0 KG

The REDs will lower you car by approximately 1 inch... for exact figures
go back to the top to the original post.

I have them on my car and I like them as they make my car more responsive.

BTW, this GB ends 31 May 2006... If your name is not on the list than
you missed out... The price will go from $250 back up to $370 for the set.

Just out of curiousity, who came up with that combination of front/rear spring rates?

And if anyone knows, WHY those rates were chosen, that would help a lot too. I've noticed quite a few coilover setups that run even spring rates all around because we have 50-50 weight distribution (makes sense). Are the stock shocks just valved differently?

I'm this close to adding my name to the list.

Hey Rey,
I have been checking the height myself and I am pleased to say that they are at
the same height. When Tarow of Swift told me that they will not settle and if so
it would be so marginal like .2 that I wouldn't notice the difference.

But I will post a pic so that you can see for your self... But it may not be until
after the weekend... Cause I am just up to my elbows in aligators and crocodiles.

For all that wanted to know:

I can now give you a true all around report on the SWIFT Springs
and SWIFT Sway bars (stabilizers) after having taken my S to
Thunderhill this last Saturday, May 27...

I was running stock OEM tires with 33 lbs of preasure and a stock spec 4 wheel alignment...
My S handled great around all of the twisties...
It never came unglued from the pavement and it took all I had
to give ... Even when I came in to hot into the turn and all I could
do was to drive and roll through it... The car was so responsive and handled
so well that I climaxed... hehehe
It felt so gooooood...

The car stability was solid and the suspension stiff enough to handle all I
gave it and more... Mike Kelly, who works at Infineon at the Russel School
and is also an S owner, was riding with me as my instructor and he stated that
the car felt good and stiff and liked the way it felt on the turns...

For all its worth I'm keeping this set up for a while and when I am ready to
up-grade it, I will go to a fully adjustable coil over kit with SWIFT GOLD Springs...
Tthe SWIFT Sway bars are staying on, and that is no bull...

I hope this helps and if it doesn't good luck with your own research and
the product that you purchase... There are a lot of good manufacturers
out there with good quality products... I have found mine...
