sweet supercharger arrived today, now what?!
i got my comptech supercharger today from UPS...and
this thing is so damn sweet! i can't wait to install it so i can
GO FAST! i bought mine from AutoCarParts for $4600,
i waited around 2-3 weeks. i heard the charger is back
ordered from comptech 'cuz they only make so much of
them in a month.
i'm wondering if you guys (sf bay area s2k owners) know
where i can have a good reputable mechanic (shop) to
install my charger at a reasonable price.
any SC owners here know where i can go???
i'm thinking driving my car to comptech (2-3 hrs drive)
or go ModaCar, where SliverSurfer and davepk got theirs
installed, (30min-1 hr drive) .........any suggestions guys?
thanks a lot!
now it's time for some real speed. got boost?

I highly recommend Modacar. Casey has done 2 supercharger installs, and REALLY knows his stuff. Their rates are very affordable for quality shop work. I got quoted around 400 bucks for a supercharger install, which seems pretty cheap for a clean install. Anyways, that's my $.02...

We were talking to the Hopkins Honda guys about ordering and installing a comptech supercharger. They're more expensive, quoted us $4800 for the SC and around $600 - $800 for installation.
Modacar was cheaper, but Hopkins services the car regularly and they're more conviently located for us.
We haven't decided what we're going to do yet.

modacar quoted me $550 for install. i told them SilverSurfer and
davepk only paid $500 for install but they said they gave out
discount when you buy the supercharger from them. since
i didn't buy the charger from them, they want $550.
should i have modacar to do the install or wait for comptech?
comptech qutoed $80 per hour (roughly they said 6 hours total)
and plus dyno tuning (another 100-200?)
thanks!

Foriegn Affairs in Santa Clara can do the installation for you.
They've been installing comptech superchargers for NSXs.
I don't know how much they charge for the installation.

Diablo Autosports in Dublin has done a couple that I'm aware of. I rode in a freshly installed SC'd yellow S2K and it was very nice. They have a web site (http://www.diabloautosports.com/) and I think they only charge $500-$600 for the install. Call and ask. When and if I get my supercharger I'll go there since I'm local.

I am the one that Diablo Autosports installed the SC in. Diablo has installed many SC's and know what they are doing. They did an amazing job and will dyno it as well. The install is $500 and $450 if purchased from them. They have it on special for $4499 on their site currently. They will take it to the dyno and get it tuned for another $185. When you pickup the car, they give u the keys w/ the dyno sheet to verify that the fuel delivery is safe and that you are making the power that the kit claims. Top notch service. I highly recommend them. Their website has an awesome search feature to make finding things for our S2000 much easier than other sites.
