Sunday 7/23 SCCA auto-x at Golden Gate Fields
Supposedly has the best view of all SCCA sites...

Read this for good info on setting up for auto-x:

It costs $30 to enter and you do need a membership, which is about $70/year. If you aren't a member, and are a first timer, you might be able to have someone sponsor you on Sunday(1 sponsership per member only though).

keep in mind, this site starts at 10am due to city regulation. so first car out at 10am, might combine groups in the morning though to get back on schedule and so the afternoon folks can run early.
so first timers, show up at around 930 to get in the buddy program.
jason, be prepared to get owned by the GGF pavement.... this is a tire eater site.

Was sorry to miss the last one since I was out of town. Would love to check this out. Can anyone sponsor me? Getting up early is no problem.
Maybe hook up with some of you guys thursday nite?

You just have to get there early for sponsorships. I don't know how many S2000 drivers will be there early since they are the 2nd to last run group...

I just bought an '02 s2000 and am looking to get in to autocrossing it. I'll probably start next season...I don't think I can make it out Sunday and I'm not a member yet.
Do most guys on here run A-stock? I was looking in to classes and I noticed they have a street tire class where are entrants are PAXed to find the winner. Can an s2000 be competitive with such a high A-stock PAX with street tires? I'm not sure I want to buy slicks yet to be competitive in A-stock.

however, since this is your first time, i would go A stock Novice, you have a better chance winning and be competitive since theres not a lot of entrants there. you cant run R compounds in novice though.
and for regular A stock (with slicks) if you can be faster than John Stimson (A stock leader S2K) and other C06 vettes, then you will have a chance..... i'd stay in novice or street tire.
see ya there... i'll be piloting the silver A4 again, street tire this time
