Leftbank is a good choice!

Steak? House of prime rib, Ruth's Chris...
Italian? Kuleto's Trattoria...
Sushi? Can't remember the name but there are few pretty good Japanese restaurant near downtown SF (few blocks west?)
Chinese? I know many Chinese restaurants but none of them are "romantic"..
Less formal? The Fish Market, Bucca..

But I think it's too late to book a table for V-day now... My choice? Cook a BIG MEAL at home..

opentable has 91 restaurants with no availability for the 14th... if you try the sat the 10th theres only 35 without a seat.

I like ISA in the Marina district for some really nice french food that will probably cost ~$100 for 2 people. The dishes are all excellent and they are meant to be shared so you get a lot of flavors. Nice cozy atmosphere too!
