Garbage based on what experience?
If you're just saying lowering springs in general don't offer any performance enhancements then sure, but if somebody just wants about a 1 inch drop for looks then teins are great for the price. There's no point buying coils if you aren't going to track your car, it's a waste of money.
Plus rpf1s plus tires will most likely run you over 1.5k if not very close, so I doubt he will have enough leftover for any type of coils. You do realize that tein flexes cost over 1k right?
On topic: For 1.5k I really don't think you can get anything decent other than rpf1s. Since you are ap1 you'll need to calculate in the cost for tires as well. Unless you meant your 1.5k budget is JUST for the rims? Some rpf1s in gold aren't bad. Go 17x8/9 +45.

Also yes, i understand that Tein Flexes retail for 12XX. But they can be found used for anywhere from 7-900.
If i remember correctly, RPF01s can be had for 1XXXish with tires, used, but in good condition.
but what would i know, i drive a camry..

ImO if you are going to mod a car, do it right - and in the car modding world that means spending some REAL MONEY
Otherwise leave it stock cuz no one will want your half modded car after the fact and it looks worse off then before!
Just springs (aside from the fact that hurt your ride quality) do NOT allow you to fine tune your heigh adjustment. You will end up with a lopsided ride and uneven stance since the fronts always seem higher.
I've seen a lot of cars that don't even look dropped on springs, just looks like bad sagging springs.
Plus you end up paying labor twice!

Lol I'm sorry you guys have had such bad experience with stechs, I drive the piss out of mine every other day and it's held up fine. Less bodyroll for sure.
It's such overkill to run full coils on a completely street car. Talk about blowing money away. There is NOTHING wrong with streeting lowering springs if you don't track. Some of you guys act like your car will ride like a yellow school bus if you install springs. That 1k saved could be spent on more important things. Why spend so much money when you don't need to? Coilovers aren't by any means necessary for a street car. I can't stress that enough. Some may like to get it anyway for some handling benefits, but you guys act like it's essential.
No, mine are fine. I didn't buy an ebay spring.
Plus I think this whole don't buy cheap parts for a s2000 thing is getting out of hand. We aren't talking about cutting stock springs here..
