You pay a premium to live in California...that's all I got to say.

what? rolling your eyes cause you are busy being brainwashed by hippies and the media?

hey did you know al gore invented the internet too.

I actually have an open mind on the topic of global warming but to get passionate about the topic referencing to an article that is written by a political and foreign affair journalist (Christopher Pearson) definitely adds a lot of validity to your stand

To help with your point there are actually scholarly articles from MIT Professor of Atmospheric Science Richard Lindzen.

1.) Wall Street Editorial
2.) He actually makes good points here in this 1992 article where he actually acknowledges that the earth is warming

But the funny thing is that Richard Lindzen has been under much scrutiny and criticism CHECK

But to get back on topic, I definitely don't agree on paying higher registration fees each year just for global warming research (I honestly think there are hundreds of billions of dollars being wasted elsewhere that could cover for it cough::iraqwar::cough).

Honestly though isn't common sense? It takes about 100 million years for the earth to produce oil, and humans are sucking it out at an alarming rate putting it back in the atmosphere creating an unbalance. I honestly don't think it takes a genius to get that point.

in response to the original topic...

I don't think that's right to penalize socal drivers... it's expensive enough to live here, they just LOWERED the requirements they put in place car manufacturers about how many hybrids need to be sold in the state...

punish the car companies, or someone else... don't make people pay more for gas "just because"

shit, I talked to a girl friend of mine in Michigan last night, gas just went up to $3.24 out there... haha

We already pay a .5% sales tax fee in the Bay Area to subsidize BART, which is definitely more then the $9 fee Socal is looking at. Speaking of BART, it is such a ripoff and so poorly ran.

No. Sales tax, not gas tax.
