Subwoofer stopped working.

Subwoofer stopped working.
My subwoofer just suddenly stopped working Friday night or Saturday morning. I didn't do anything different than I normally do as far as playing it too loud or for too long. I don't smell any electrical burning scents or anything either. The stereo shop that I used to go to was over in Redwood City, and has since closed it's doors.
Could anyone help me diagnose this? Not asking for a full system strip down, but possibly someone who knows the right wires to check on my amplifier to determine if this is a fusing issue, a deck issue, a subwoofer issue?
Any trustworthy shops in the East Bay near Walnut creek?

I basically know nothing about car stereo electronics. I've heard that amps have their own fuses, and maybe I blew an amp fuse. I guess there's a few possibilities, but its hard to speculate without looking at it.

I assume the amp is still working because my door speakers are still working and they are wired through the subwoofer.
If fuses/power/ground are jacked, could that cause the sub to stop working, but but the speakers?

most amp's will light up, etc. should check to see if it lights up.
there should be a separate fuse for your amp, somewhere along the line from your battery to your amp.(its not a oem fuse if that is what you were thinking)

I have this monster fuse thingy right by the battery terminal leading towards the amp.
The amp is an old school Precision Power PPI PCX 480.
I'll take a look for lights and obviously blown fuses.

yeah that one, if the amp is out as well. i would suspect the fuse.

Would my door speakers still work if the amp/fuse is blown?
They still work now, and sound great.

(guessing) you seem to be running a 4 channel amp (1- front driver side; 2- front passenger side; 3+4- bridged to Sub)
If your fronts are working, then power cables are all good. And i'm sure I saw a capacitor in a pic you took before. Make sure you properly discharge this when and if you have to diagnose power issues.
If your sub is not, a few things to check for:
-RCA terminals at the back of the deck (if your running factory, check the high-low converters)
-RCA terminals at the amp
-Speaker wire terminals at the amp
-Speaker wire terminals at the sub box
-Open the box (maybe by removing the subwoofer) and check the speaker wire from the terminal to the subwoofer (I have seen this fall out even on pre-made subwoofers)
If all else fails:
bust out a handy dandy volt meter and start checking for shorts.
