Stripping a chrome finish off a rim
Does anybody know how? I got rims for the IS, and it's chrome ... I tried looking for a way, and the only way I found was to either sandblast it/repowder coating. I don't wanna spend much (or any at all) on these rims since they're basically OEM.

Are you just trying to paint them?
I bet if you scuff them with a scotch brite pad or some fine sand paper (2000grit or the like) then it will give a contact patch for the paint to adhere to.

grinder/sander and a grinding stone will do the job. just be careful not to use the edge of the stone because that'll make it skip and create pits. should be a couple hours of work.
well ventilated area + mask are a must

Youre better off just painting them. It'll save you a ton of time.
