Default Steering Wheel Angle Sensor

Hey guys, do you guys know anything about the steering wheel angle sensor? The dealership told me that the sensor failed and wants me to pay about $180 more for more in depth diagnostics on it before they can tell me what is really wrong with the car. I have a 2006 too. Any help would be great. Thanks

My VSA stayed on and I had it checked out at the dealership to see whats wrong. They said it was a steering angle sensor failure but to make sure, they need to run more tests on it and it would cost me $180 more on top for the extra tests. DTC code: 27-1

Just not run VSA More fun anyway. Your VSA is your right foot.

Yeah I know but that bright" vsa [!]" light on the dash gets really annoying to look at too. If there was only a way to disable that light, then I wouldn't mind because I've been driving this car with that light on since I got it about 10 months ago.

Are people really recommending running without VSA (or does it still work)?
