is it really that bad? it was just going to be a small project for me to work on / keep me occupied on non-social weekends lol.

I've gotta see this bar, this sounds like a good story.
Yeah, the Fumoto sells with a "nipple" and hose if you are so inclined...

are you going to get a different one then when you get the old bolts out? do you know if the current bolts are ok, or do i need a replacement?

You two should swap bolts, he still has the bolts for the brace on his car and he could use yours instead of buying new ones.
