So here's what I found out. If you get a speeding ticket in a different state it does not affect your insurance. Paying off that speeding ticket right away will not affect your driving record. So think of it as an expensive fix it ticket if you will. So all you have to worry about is the fine. No traffic school and insurance will be untouched

I remember when I went to traffic school here in the Santa Clara county, the price was around almost if not $100. You can do it online too. Basically, pay for the ticket, pay for traffic school. If you get another ticket within 16months, you will not be eligible for traffic school & then it hits your record where your insurance premium will go up slightly.

My last speeding ticket over 10mph, it was 270's... I tried fighting it but it was too far for my rep to travel, I ended up taking traffic school... I used 4lazy.com cost me only $15 and took 30 minutes... Easy as hell

I disagree. Radar tickets are the easiest to win (Lidar is very hard to beat). Do some research on how radar works, and you can pretty easily have "reasonable doubt" if they measured YOUR speed.

Pacing is the hardest to beat because they are following you and will use they have been trained to calculate speed as their defense. Radar and lidar will have your read out, still tough to beat, unless you get the print out of the last radar calibration that will disprove your speed. Either way it's not easy to beat

Radar is nothing more than transceiver in the microwave band. Even the best radar guns have a 10 deg beam pattern, at any kind of distance how can the officer be 100% sure it measured YOUR speed. If you go in for a trail ask the officer if they have ever seen the radar gun report a measured speed when no car was in sight. Unless the officer lies, they have see this (this can be caused by shadowing, RFI interference, cosine error and mechanical interference).

So far the only speeding ticket I have not beaten was a time/distance ticket. There is no way to beat that

That's an interesting defense to use. I have to write that down. I beat 5 out of 6 radar tickets. The only reason I lost was the cop said he paced me. Then he had radar. But the radar calibration reading he had was after my ticket was issued. I told the judge that the speedo and radar could've been off at the time of my ticket, but the judge was in a super bitchy mood and said no. No explanation, just said you're guilty. WOW. San Mateo county is one of the strictest and hardest to win a traffic violation from my experience

Brian I like this argument.

Any way to argue this via mail? My wife is not going to be able to grill a cop in court and if I understand it correctly I cannot show for her.

If worse comes to worst, at least he cut her a break on the indicated speed. Online traffic school is quick and painless if she needs to do that.
