Speeding ticket
Hey everyone,
I got my first speeding ticket yesterday for doing 63 in a 50 zone. Any idea what range I can expect the fine to be? In case it matters, this was in Santa Clara County.
Btw, be careful on highway 17, especially on the straight parts near Lexington Reservoir, the summit, and Scotts Valley. Something tells me the CHP is stepping up patrols again.
Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks guys. I've known about the Ticket Assassin site for a while, but didn't plan to fight the ticket. I'll check into it just in case, though.
iceple, that fine seems consistent with what others have told me. I hope it's just in the $100-something range.
Thanks again. Anyone else with estimates, let me know.

Yea Police have been all over for some reason ... anyways
Don't forget if you plan to take driving school or whatever it's called to get it cleared for insurance purposes, that'll cost more too.
Cops change shifts in Saratoga at 7:00-7:30 am, I know this cus when I'm driving pierce road to Foothill in the mornings before class, I see 6-7 cops coming out of the station towards cupertino.
My suggestion, if you want fun, go speed limit, and don't slow down on turns, fun for the car, and you, and legal to boot =).

I'm not sure about specific situations and what not but basically a while back my brother got a ticket speeding in mustang, and he paid the ticket but took a class so that it wipes the ticket from insurance, so your rates dont go up. Class is very dull and like price of another ticket or maybe more. You can only take the class like once every 3 years or something or year and a half I believe.

It's traffic school that you guys are referring to. You're eligible to take it for one offense every 18 months. It's not that expensive though. The last time I took it, it was $20-something.
