Default Speed cameras?

Went to south bay last weekend, and figured out that there's a lot BIG cameras on highways.
237 between milpitas and 85/82 exit. 85 from Stevens Creek to 101, and 101 from 85 to Foster City. Almost every 2-3 miles, rader detector K band(Passport 8500 x50). Should have more in other areas.
So, becareful you guys.

I think what your picking up are traffic flow monitors. used by caltrans to check for traffic slow downs ETC. there was a thread about this last year IIRC.

maybe that's why on group drives my radar detector will periodically go crazy and i won't be able to see a cop anywhere. i say only on group drives because that's the only time i bring the fuzzbuster

I don't think so, I am going to south bay every week before, never see those big ass cameras, and my rader was quite.
If you go 237 at night, there are some red signal lights next to highway(I am sure they are not the signal for aircrafts), and the camera just right below the light. While you pass them, rader comes down, I think between the lights, there's recording area.
