South Bay tranny shop recommendation?

Hello,
My '02 S2000 transmission needs work. Not entirely sure what the problem is yet, but the leading suspicion is bad synchros.
Can anyone recommend a good tranny shop in the South Bay? Preferably one that deals with extended warranty companies. I live in San Jose.
I would just take it to the Honda dealer, but they charge the highest labor rates for tearing down and putting back together the tranny. Depending on whether the extended warranty covers the repairs, I might have to eat that cost myself. Hence, I have reservations about the high cost. Another recommendation was Pete's Gear Shop in Hayward, but that's a bit far for me to drive on an iffy tranny.
