Default Something happened to my car last night

Well, I got ready for work went out to the garage and started her up. She had a slightly deeper tone for some odd reason, maybe morning congestion I backed out of the garage and the typical put the clutch in and give it a little gas and it usually bogs just enough so I have to give it a little more throttle to keep it from stalling. But not today. She just responded like she hasn't before. I moderately drive to the freeway (only 2 bars at this point). I get on the freeway (3 bars now) and I get on it. The car responded so GOOD. It has not felt this good in a while. Off idle it used to bog a little on take off but not today. I think she was excited that the sun was shining and just an overall beautiful morning and there was a Black/Black 2 cars in front of me. Maybe she wanted to impress her sister. The entire commute over the hill was quite nice a few slow spots but nothing major. She drove incredibly. No bogs, just immediate response when I hit the throttle. So, I am wondering to myself, why does it feel and sound so good today. Then I remember, I checked my plugs and re-torqued them last night. They all seemed to be torqued the same when I checked it initially but I still loosened them up and re-torqued them. It is amazing that a little TLC like that can make our cars so happy

It's also like a LOT colder outside today (had ice on my car this morning ). you might be running slightly rich off idle, and the cold air is compensating for that.. see if she feels the same at 3pm. If she's still real happy, I'm going to re-torque my spark plugs today

Good point I will check it later today. I would think I would be running a little lean right now since I do not have the blower connected and the air intake is restricted.

Keith,

Do you happen to know the spec for the plugs? I still haven't got off my lazy ass and gotten the Helms yet

Is it 16 ft-lbs?

Thx,

Jim
